Set in the heart of bustling Alnmouth in Northumberland, Sandpiper is a delightful stone-built cottage which is presented to an extremely high standard and is the perfect holiday home for a small family or two couples. The sitting room is truly inviting with ample seating and a feature inglenook fireplace creating a beautifully rustic focal point to the room and adding to the welcoming ambience. Also included in the attractive space is an elegant dining area which is all set up ready for guests to indulge in long, lazy meals together and the small but stylish kitchen has all that is needed to produce meals for the holiday party. There are two beautifully-appointed bedrooms with the first-floor double bedroom boasting beautiful picture windows creating a relaxing, cottagey vibe to the room and the attic bedroom boasting feature exposed ceiling beams which again help to add to the rustic feel. Both bedrooms offer a relaxing sanctuary ideal for resting your weary heads after a tiring day of exploring. Within walking distance of Sandpiper are the amenities of Alnmouth which include shops, eateries, a golf course and miles of sandy beaches. Jump in the car for visits to the scenic town of Alnwick, famous for its castle and gardens, or drive a little further to attractions such as Hadrian’s Wall, Howick Hall and Gardens, Dunstanburgh Castle and Northumberland Country Zoo. Take a boat trip over to the Farne Islands where you might catch sight of an unusual bird or seal. If you love wildlife, then you’ve come to the right place with RSPB reserves at Annstead Dunes and Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre. Activities worth having a go at while you’re here include golf at Alnmouth Golf Club, horse-riding at Slate Hall Riding Centre, surfing at Bamburgh Castle Beach and sailing at Beadnell Sailing Club. Situated just 4 miles east of Alnwick, Alnmouth is a charming resort popular with golfers and those seeking a peaceful holiday. The village lies on a narrow spit of land between the River Aln and the North Sea and was originally the port for Alnwick. Nowadays the area has returned to its unspoilt origins and offers a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as an excellent “links” golf course and some great rivers for fishing, as well as boasting miles and miles of splendid beaches and sand dunes to explore which afford stunning views of the North Sea. A short drive will bring you to Alnwick with its famous historic castle, The Alnwick Garden housing the Poison Garden which runs guided tours through dangerous botanicals and a variety of pubs and restaurants. Alnmouth is well situated for exploring Northumberland.

    Cosy and comfortable and conveniently located in the centre of Alnmouth for beach, pubs and restaurants. A great base for exploring this wonderful area of Northumberland.

    I loved the upstairs to the cottage, the dining arrangement was not brilliant the bench is too big for the room but overall lovely stay
