Guests say

Viewpoint is a well-received holiday cottage in Alnmouth, Northumberland, praised for its stunning views, comfortable furnishings, and prime location. Guests appreciate the modern amenities, cleanliness, and the peaceful environment. The property's layout, particularly the upstairs lounge, maximises the scenic coastal and countryside vistas. While most feedback is positive, a few guests noted minor issues with maintenance and cleanliness, but these do not detract from the overall excellent impression of the property.

The property generally receives high marks for cleanliness, with guests finding it clean and comfortable. However, there are isolated comments about cobwebs, a used pair of underpants found under a bed, and a flea, which slightly lower the score.

The location is highly praised for its quietness, proximity to the beach, and stunning views of both the sea and countryside. It is considered perfect for relaxing and exploring the local area.

Guests find the property very comfortable, with cosy furnishings and a welcoming atmosphere. The beds are noted as comfortable, and the living spaces are well-appreciated. A suggestion for blackout blinds and a comment on bright alarm sensors slightly affect the score.

The facilities are generally regarded as top-quality, with a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable lounge area. Some guests suggested the addition of more mugs, serving bowls, and microwave dishes. A few maintenance issues, such as the dishwasher door and the need for better signage and lighting outside, are noted.

The owners are commended for their thoughtfulness, leaving welcome gifts for guests and being responsive to their needs. It is important to note that such gestures, while appreciated, may vary and are not guaranteed for every stay.

Beautiful accommodation, the best we have visited in Northumberland.

It made a handy base to explore the North East and we plan to return. Our only gripe was that Sykes website denied us the possibility of contacting the owners directly to discuss a specific matter prior to arrival, the list of questions we were ‘allowed’ to ask was too generic.

The house is very comfortable, cosy and well equipped though a few covered microwave dishes and towel hook in utility would be useful. The location is perfect offering walks from the doorstep - to be able to walk into Alnmouth via road or coastal path was a real bonus. The views are wonderful (great to have Juliet balcony) and the enclosed garden is well maintained - a lovely private space complete with table and chairs. Clean and bright with comfy beds. Easy to find using Satnav. Our expectations were exceeded and we would definitely stay again.
