About this property

A spacious family holiday home resting in the seaside town of Amble, Helsey View is in a convenient spot for exploring the beautiful Northumberland Coast. Be welcomed into a spacious open-plan living area where a sitting room sports a selection of leather sofas for you to relax on as you plan the day ahead of you. From here you will find an airy kitchen with all of the home-from-home amenities needed to cook up a storm, and there is a dining table for you to serve your masterpiece on. Soak the sand from your hair in the family bathroom before settling down for the night in one of the two bedrooms, a king-size with storage and a twin bunk room sleeping four guests, ideal for children, from which you will be able to access a balcony through the double glass doors, an ideal spot for breakfast in the sunshine. Amble is a seaside town with a lot on offer for guests, and you can enjoy the coastal scenery with a trip to the local beach, or a walk beside Amble Marina. Amble offers a selection of tasty eateries, independent shops and fresh seafood at the local’s favourites, The Old Boat House or Sea & Soil bistro, and there is also an ice cream parlour. Explore the coast further with a boat trip to Coquet Island, a RSPB nature reserve located just off the coast, or head over to the neighbouring town of Warkworth where there is an amazing castle and sandy beach. From here you will be able to visit the historic seaside town of Alnwick, where there are many walks, eateries, shops and another amazing castle. Make the most of the scenery and history of Northumberland with a stay at Helsey View.

The bustling little seaport of Amble is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet and is an ideal place for exploring Northumberland. Historically a centre for boatbuilding, Amble offers a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and country park at Druridge Bay. Large fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters. There is a fish centre on the side of the harbour that is now primarily a shell fish hatchery to re-stock levels of lobster and other shell fish, this sells local fish and is open to the public. A mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an rspb reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks and boat trips around the island can be arranged. The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.
