About this property

Nestling in a secluded cul-de-sac in Beadnell, Northumberland, Stones Throw is literally a stone’s throw from the harbour and beach, making it the perfect destination for a family holiday or a small group of friends travelling together. The accommodation is incredibly well-presented and offers guests a warm welcome with a delightful open-plan living space boasting a really comfy seating area, attractive wood flooring, tasteful décor and an elegant dining area, making for a great space for entertaining. The chic kitchen is a delight, so the designated chef will take great pleasure in whipping up delicious food for the holiday party with all the equipment on hand in this gorgeous space. All the bedrooms are on one level making it really convenient for guests to make their way to bed and with three stylish bedrooms to choose from, a super-king-size, a double and a twin, all with TVs, going to bed certainly won’t be a chore. The outside courtyard garden is a real sun trap and with patio furniture all set up ready, this is a really inviting space to spend time together alfresco. In the morning when you wake up refreshed and raring to go, you’ve got the picturesque village of Beadnell on the doorstep and of course, miles of sandy beaches to discover. Coastal towns and villages to call past include Seahouses, Bamburgh, Warkworth and Alnmouth. Jump in the car for a scenic drive to attractions such as Bamburgh Castle, Hadrian’s Wall, Northumberland Country Zoo, Dunstanburgh Castle, Alnwick Castle and Gardens and you can even take a boat trip to Farne Islands where you might get sightings of unusual birds and even seals. In a superb location, Stone’s Throw offers guests a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

This attractive and peaceful harbour village is situated beside one of the most beautiful stretches of Northumberland’s Heritage Coastline - Beadnell Bay. Established in Saxon times, Beadnell was once an important fishing village and a smuggler's haven. Nowadays, it is still a fishing village, but is equally popular with holidaymakers who come to enjoy its pretty harbour and, of course, the nearby sandy beaches. The village has a shop, two pubs and a café serving food. Popular Seahouses is just over a mile away and has shops, a supermarket and restaurants, and it also offers boat trips from the harbour to the magnificent Farne Islands - a haven for bird watchers. Bamburgh is close by, whilst the market town of Alnwick with its Castle and Gardens, shops, pubs and restaurants is a short drive away.

The property is very clean, comfortable and cosy, it isn't large by any means but well set out with plenty of space. It easily catered for our party of 4 adults and 2 dogs, also the kitchen is well equipped. We had no need to venture out in the evenings as the facilities were so good to stay in and cook. The only fault was some of the ceiling lights in the bedrooms were a bit temperamental and to be fair, we weren't sure if this was just the bulbs. We were so impressed that before we left we actually booked to stay there for the next New Year.

Radiators were a problem and tripped the electrics so we had to contact company: resolve d quickly. We couldn’t control one of the radiators in the en-suite bedroom which stayed at 7. A couple of minor points no handwash in the toilets and minimal toilet paper but apart from that nice property, would recommend General area fantastic; pubs/ beaches etc.

We love Beadnell and the whole area. I actually went online to book again for September next year but it’s almost £200 more expensive for the same week next year which I feel is a little steep so I’m unsure if we will be returning
