Sadly our first impressions were overtaken by the lack of heat in house.. Large lounge with very high ceiling and 2 very small radiators, not sufficient to heat room. Spoke to owner who set heating for 18 degrees, this was not achieved due to size of property. Had to use fire every evening but this was done at our expense by buying our own supplies, wood supplied was damp and room felt quite smoky when used. Lack of garden lighting was also an issue with dogs as we had to go out with them with torches.... Not ideal in a "dog friendly" property. But have to say it was a safe garden for dogs as fully enclosed. Beds were comfortable but downstairs bedroom in description states king size bed.... In reality was a double... perhaps cottage description needs to be checked. Unfortunately we felt disappointed with property overall. The area had lots of places to visit and for anyone not wishing to drive local transport easily accessible. Would we visit again, unfortunately not.

Beautiful house and garden. Very comfy beds. The lounge was a bit cool but it was January - very cold and wet when we were staying. The log burner was very welcome but not enough logs for a week. I’ll think the house is extremely dog friendly and maybe undersells itself there. Our Bichon felt very at home and he loved the enclosed walled garden. I was impressed with the array of pots and pans available, however a bit disappointing that there was no provision of foil/ clingfilm / dishcloth that I would usually find in other accommodation. There were 3 generations staying with the downstairs bedroom working well for our group and all with their own bathroom. There was plenty of space for everyone.
