About this property

Nestled in the heart of Corbridge, Northumberland is this homely, terraced cottage, Toll House. Surrounded by gorgeous countryside, historic attractions, and with amenities just a stone's throw away, the cottage is the perfect spot for a group of five. Roadside parking is available in front of the

property before stepping inside your home-from home. A parking permit for Corbridge is available at the property. Locate the kitchen with cream countertops, a large range cooker sure to please any budding chef, and a washer/dryer to keep your holiday gear fresh! After rustling up your best home-cooked meals, set the dining table by the warmth of the woodburning

stove and catch up with your loved ones. Your private and enclosed courtyard is perfect for unwinding with a glass of wine at the outdoor seating as the night draws in; there's even secure bike storage for those outdoor adventurers! Climb the stairs to find a spacious sitting room with sofas and a TV to snuggle up for a movie night or plan tomorrow's agenda. The shower room is just across the way with a large walk-in shower to freshen up, whilst the heated rail keeps your towel toasty, before choosing between three bedrooms. A double bedroom with king size bed and fitted storage rests on the first floor, whilst the second floor hosts a double with en-suite shower room and a single. Start your holiday with a wander around Corbridge, a beautiful and popular historic village with the unspoilt Northumbrian countryside on its doorstep; stock up at the local convenience stores, dine out at Il Piccolo Italian restaurant, or stop off at The Watling Coffee House. Grants the Baker is a must. Just outside the village lies the preserved ruins of Corbridge Roman Town with a museum and fascinating artefacts, as well as Aydon Castle, an almost completely intact 13th-century manor house! Spend the day in the picturesque market town of Hexham to visit Hexham Abbey with its Saxon crypt, picnic in The Sele park, or why not pack

your clubs for Hexham Golf Club? If you prefer the great outdoors, Corbridge sits close to North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Northumberland National Park

for breath-taking landscapes, historic sites, and plenty of walking, hiking and cycling opportunities; you can even walk along the remains of Hadrian's Wall! For the best of both, Newcastle upon Tyne is a short drive away, a vibrant city with something for everyone; soak up culture at The Biscuit Factory

gallery, discover local maritime history at Discovery Museum or plan an evening out with a variety of pubs, restaurants, cinemas, and theatres. Choose Toll House, a charming place to call home whilst you explore Northumberland.

Corbridge, a wonderful ancient village surrounded by magnificent unspoilt Northumbrian countryside, provides a wealth of attractions, including specialised stores, old inns, and a 12th-century river bridge. Hadrian's Wall and Housesteads Fort are nearby, while Hexham, a market town with small, bustling streets, a decent selection of shops, and a fascinating abbey with 15th-century frescoes and a superb Saxon crypt, is a few miles away and well worth a visit.

Lovely location near centre of town with everything we needed in walking distance (Co-op, cafés, restaurants, pubs, etc).

  • Alexander

All village facilities easily within walking distance.

No outdoor shoes upstairs (need to remember slippers), nicely carpeted upstairs .Lovely kitchen but needed more instruction for range style cooker. Very clean and comfortable throughout although we did feel it was cold in the house and heating did not raise temperature appreciably. Fault with wi fi sorted out fairly quickly but wonder if it would have been sorted out if one of us wasn’t a tech. expert who recognised the problem and helped handyman to resolve it! Speed of response was very quick - thank you ! Courtyard was lovely and a real sun trap. Would recommend to others and possibly stay here again.
