The lovely village of West Woodburn lies amidst the deep Rede Valley and was once an important resting point in Roman times for travellers on route to Scotland from York. The village hosts a welcoming pub and a Post Office selling basic supplies, whilst visitors can also explore the remains of one of the outpost forts of Hadrian's Wall that passes nearby. The historic village Otterburn, with its world-famous Woollen Mill and Shop is just a short drive away and is popular with walkers and cyclists alike, whilst the nearby, beautiful Kielder Forest affords fantastic fishing, boating, horse riding and nature watching opportunities. The market town of Hexham is 20 miles away, plus the vibrant city of Newcastle upon Tyne just 35 miles away has the renowned Metro Shopping Centre and excellent night life. Very cosy and clean. Great hot tub after being out exploring all the beautiful coastline surrounding it. Shop and pub near We had a great holiday. The garden is enclosed but the road that the cottage sits on is really busy all day and night with lorries passing. Lovely place to stay would recommend

Cottage really clean and contained everything we needed for our stay. Owners really helpful. Surrounding scenery beautiful and local pub does lovely food and very welcoming. Lots to do in the area but definitely need a car .
