Quarry Barn is located in the perfect spot if you’re looking for peace and quiet together with access to walks straight from the doorstep. Vicky and Simon are the perfect couple to host a holiday cottage - very friendly and genuine, nice people. The welcome pack was way beyond any we’ve ever had in previous cottages (there was even a box of goodies for our little dog Elsie)and the cottage itself is really comfortable and superbly equipped. If you like walking you’re spoilt for choice - Slaley forest is a treasure and we’d recommend parking in one of the forest car parks and walking over to Blanchland - there’s a great pub as well as lovely cafe. Whatever you decide to do when you’re at Quarry Barn we’re sure you’ll have a great time - we certainly did.

Quarry Barn is a lovely place to stay. It is comfortable, beautifully fitted out and has a very well equiped kitchen. It wasn't cold enough for the log burner but I'm sure it would be very cosy with the throws on the settee and the disco ball to enhance the atmosphere. My husband loved the speaker so he could play his music from his phone.Vicky and Simon are fantastic hosts...very friendly, lovely to chat to, there if you need them, but in no way intrusive. The Welcome bag of goodies was so kind and thoughtful with everything to make tea and coffee, have something light to eat and some treats. There is so much to do in the area. Hexham is very pretty but we also visited a number of the places recommended by Vicky....Slaley Forest for walks, food at the Rose and Crown and Lord Crewe Arms and walks around Derwent reservoir, where there us also a 12 acre fenced area to let your dog off the lead.Quarry Barn is a place you must stay at. The thoughtful attention to detail the owners have put into it makes for a lovely holiday. I hope we can visit again.

The cottage was clean & comfortable. The welcome pack was excellent and very thoughtful. Feel the outside sitting area would benefit from some landscaping. Had a wonderful holiday, the cottage is wonderful base to explore the area. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again as still more things to do & see in the area.
