The bustling market town of Rothbury is only 2 miles away which is well provided with pubs, shops and tea rooms. Venture a little further, and you’ll find Cragside, the famed National Trust estate and the world’s first home to use hydro-electricity. Take a trip up the Coquet valley to explore the beautiful wild Cheviot hills, or a short drive to the marvellous Northumberland beaches - this cottage is perfectly situated to take advantage of both the hills and the seaside.
The open-plan lounge/diner/kitchen, flooded with natural light from its floor-to-ceiling windows, is a fabulous place in which to relax, with a laid-back, modern design style that includes interesting art on the walls, shelves full of books and a chic mix of old and new furnishings. Snuggle up on the sofas by the wood burner, play a board game, stream a movie on the Smart TV or simply sit by the window and admire the endless sky and rolling hills. Enjoy creating delicious meals in the pretty kitchen, where the cook will be equipped with everything required for easy holiday cooking, including a microwave and a dishwasher. A useful complement to this space is the adjacent utility room, with laundry facilities, plenty of storage and room for dog beds on the floor. The bright, king-size bedroom at the front of the house benefits from yet more exquisite views. The adjoining room offers a handy office and leads to a smart en-suite shower room. The remaining two bedrooms share a family bathroom with a shower over the bath.

Behind the house is a peaceful conservation woodland and meadow, teeming with birds, while the front boasts a large garden and a charming patio, perfect for al fresco dining. Dog-friendly, Wood Cottage also provides private parking for up to three cars, with additional space available beyond the driveway.

- 2 well-behaved, small or medium dogs are welcome. Please note that the perimeter of the garden is not fully enclosed, and small dogs may be able to squeeze through the farm gate at the bottom of the drive

- Private parking for up to 3 cars; additional space for 1 car in front of the garage just outside the driveway
- Shop and pub/restaurant 1 mile, beach 20 miles
- Regret no children under 5 due to the steep slope at the front of the cottage
- The wooden cot in the room adjoining the king-size bedroom is for the owner’s family use only
- Due to the surroundings and setting, it is not suitable to bring your own BBQ
- Although the accommodation is on a single floor, there is a step up to both front and back doors
