Amble also has an annual Puffin Festival which celebrates the cute ‘clowns of the sea’.

Stepping inside this humble terrace house, you’ll be wowed by the sophisticated decor. Sumptuous soft furnishings, unique artwork and flamboyant fixtures pop against the neutral palette to create a stylish, yet comfortable, home. From the light and airy lounge with its comfy sofas, head into the kitchen/diner which has plenty of space for everyone to cook and dine together. As you’d expect from Northumberland, there is plenty of history to explore. Warkworth Castle is a 1.5-mile walk along the mouth of the River Coquet, or you can drive to Craster (13 miles) and enjoy a short coastal walk to Dunstanburgh Castle. Be sure to sample the Craster Kippers before heading home! Or perhaps you’d like to follow in the footsteps of Harry Potter, in which case enjoy a day out at Alnwick Castle (9.5 miles). If you want to take to the water, enjoy a boat trip around Coquet Island, a mile off the coast, to see the masses of seabirds, including puffins.
