Island View is a well-equipped, comfortable cottage in a superb location just moments from the beach and harbour in Amble. Guests consistently praise its cleanliness, modern bathrooms, and spacious, dog-friendly layout. The kitchen is particularly well-stocked, and the property offers easy parking and access to local amenities. While a few minor maintenance and cleaning issues were noted, these did not detract from otherwise excellent stays. Many guests are repeat visitors and would happily return, highlighting the cottage as a fantastic base for exploring Northumberland.

Set at the end of a row of houses with open aspects over The Links towards Coquet Island is this deceptively spacious holiday home. Only a hop, skip and a jump to the centre of Amble, the popular town has a great community spirit, and has been dubbed the ‘friendliest port’. There’s a working harbour, a pretty marina and a sandy beach to enjoy, just a short walk from this end terraced property.
A popular Sunday market on the harbour provides a great morning out. You’ll find a super little fish restaurant hidden behind the lifeboat house, and an award-winning ice cream parlour. Coquet Island is a designated rspb protected bird sanctuary home to some 30,000 puffins, which can be seen on the puffin cruises that depart from Amble. Just two miles away is the picture-perfect village of Warkworth with its hillside castle, pubs, shops and scenic walks along the banks of the river. Young witches and wizards are drawn to Alnwick Castle, which featured in the Harry Potter films. You can also visit the impressive water gardens and the world’s largest treehouse-turned restaurant whilst you’re there.
Characterised by vast golden stretches, pristine bays and rolling sand dunes, it’s little wonder why the coastline north of Amble was designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Heritage Coastline offers plenty of cycle and footpaths for outdoorsy types of holidaymakers. Truly, Island View is a great location for exploring the whole of this unspoilt county with all necessary amenities right on your doorstep.

Good, comfortable holiday accommodation in an ideal spot, both for the local amenities and the Northumberland coast. The adjacent grassed area is especially useful for dog owners.

The location is superb, the beach just a stones throw from the front door. The property is comfortable, good facilities and roomy. The beds are comfortable and bedding clean. The night lights are a really good idea. The back yard is perfect for hanging out your towels. Nice that the patio doors open out onto a quiet end terrace and not overlooked at all, the birds were lovely to watch anytime of the day. This was our second visit and would happily use again, thank you, we really enjoyed the peace and quiet no traffic ….perfect!!!
