Fantastic cottage - beautifully decorated, seriously comfortable beds and sofas- every detail has been thought about! Emma and Roddy were really helpful, both before and during our stay. The hot tub was a lovely addition- a great size and great after a long day out! The location was perfect- great to visit the coast, Scotland or one of the many castles. It is on a main road but you'd not know it - the speed camera nearby meant no fast cars! Equally, our children slept in the front room and slept perfectly - better than at home! We had a really lovely week, and would love to return in the future!

We had a wonderful week staying at Lyndhurst. The cottage was spotlessly clean, exceptionally well equipped, and finished to a very high standard. The furniture and décor was modern-country and comfortable, making it feel like a real home from home.The owners were incredibly thoughtful and attentive. They made our little boy's birthday extra special by surprising him with balloons and a cake on our arrival, which was such a lovely touch.One of the main reasons we chose Lyndhurst was to take my mum away. Sadly, it was her first holiday without my dad, so we wanted her to feel comfortable. Having a downstairs bedroom and bathroom was perfect for her, while the rest of us where happy to be upstairs. The layout worked brilliantly for our family. The cottage was small enough for us to feel together, but big enough for us not to be on top of each other.Although the cottage is on a busy road, the modern construction and windows meant we were not disturbed by traffic noise. The wide driveway also made parking and reversing our cars in and out easy and safe.The local pub, The Shoulder of Mutton, is just a short walk away and has a lovely atmosphere, serving good pub grub. The village shop is small but well stocked, with freshly prepared local produce on sale.Lyndhurst is in a great location for exploring Northumberland. We were only around 15 minutes drive from the beautiful sandy beach at Creswell (which has public toilets and an ice cream shop) and not far from Alnwick, where we enjoyed an brilliant day exploring the castle and gardens.We wouldn't hesitate to book Lyndhurst again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, high-quality base from which to explore the many wonderful sights of Northumberland.
