If you crave further adventure, lace up your walking boots and traverse the scenic landscapes of the Northumberland National Park, crossing over open moorland and rolling hills, as well as the longest stretch of Hadrian’s Wall. Pinecone Lodge – No 9 is a charming retreat, whatever time of year.

Felmoor Park in Northumberland is a top-tier campground just off the A1 with its 40 wooded acres and manmade lake. It sits between the towns of Morpeth (to the south) and Alnwick (to the north). West Thirston, a quaint English village only three miles away, is a must-visit. The town of Alnwick, with its castle and now-famous Garden—home to Europe's largest cascading water feature, an enormous tree house, a rose garden, and an ornamental walled garden—is only ten miles away. The village itself has a shop, pub, and restaurant. The castle is also well-known for its role in the "Harry Potter" film series, where it served as the location of Hogwarts. There is plenty to do and see in the area around Alnwick, including visiting the town's many shops, pubs, and restaurants as well as taking a boat out to the nearby Farne Islands. The perfect base from which to discover Northumberland and the rest of the county's beautiful Heritage Coast.

Nothing not to like. Short drive to some of the best beaches in the England and Wales.

We thoroughly enjoy our stay at Pinecone Lodge. Pine one Lodge was a nice lodge, had all necessary equipment for sel-catering. That said, I feel the lodge needs a little TLC in places i.e the cupboard in the bathroom needs replacing and the grouting along the wall by the bath taps needs renewing. The lodge has been painting white throughout of which is very patchy in areas. Jan left us a lovely welcome gift of Prosecco and luxury cookies of which we really appreciated and enjoyed. We won’t hesitate to go back and stay, next year.
