About this property

Redshank is nestled amidst the hustle and bustle of the lively town and seaport of Amble, on the North Sea coast of Northumberland. Boasting spacious rooms and a fresh uplifting atmosphere, this lovely, terraced home offers couples a relaxing break near the sea, or equally a small family the chance to explore the wonders of Northumberland. This contemporary cottage comprises laminate flooring, stylish décor and an elevating woodburning stove set within a charming brick inglenook, in the modern sitting room. On the ground floor you will also find a lovely dining room with exposed stone walls to mirror the lounge and a feature mantelpiece adding a touch of character to the room. Next the kitchen welcomes you with bright and neutral colour schemes, tied together with sleek worktops and ample storage units for a quality finish. Sit at the charming breakfast bar and enjoy your morning coffee with a read of the newspaper, before stepping out and discovering the array of amenities on offer in Amble. During the summer months you can even enjoy breakfast outside on the patio. Back inside, follow the stairs up to the first floor to find a super-king-size room which can be thoughtfully set up as twins, should you wish for an alternative sleeping arrangement. There is also a delightful single room on offer next door and the bathroom comprises a sleek look with off-white tiled walls, a corner bath with a shower over and helpful fixtures to get you through your mornings and evenings at this superb holiday let. Explore the wonderful harbour at Amble, which is just a short walk away, among restaurants, cafes and pubs. Historically known for its boatbuilding, this pleasant town hosts sandy beaches, coastal walks and a fish centre supplying local produce. Discover Coquet Island or pay a visit to Warkworth, home to its own remarkable castle, an excellent golf club and a beautiful beach. Further afield, you will find Alnwick, where you can visit the magnificent Alnwick Castle, famous for its appearance in the Harry Potter film series, the Baliffgate Museum, Alnwick Castle Golf Club, and the popular restaurants of The Dirty Bottles and Adam and Eve. Whisk your loved ones away for a memorable stay at Redshank.

Amble, a busy little seaport at the mouth of the River Coquet, is an excellent base from which to explore Northumberland. A marina, harbour, sandy beaches, and coastal treks to Hauxley Bird Sanctuary and Druridge Bay Country Park may all be found at Amble, which was once a major boatbuilding hub. The harbour wall is lined with large fishing boats that bring in a wide variety of seafood including fish, prawns, crabs, and lobsters. In order to replenish lobster and other shellfish populations, there is a fish market on the harbor's edge that also offers fresh seafood. RSPB reserve Coquet Island is located a mile south of Amble and is home to several species of birds including terns, puffins, and eider ducks. Alnmouth and Craster, as well as a number of excellent beaches, are just a short drive away, as are the attractive towns of Warkworth and Alnwick, each with their own castles and charming, award-winning gardens, and the National Trust properties of Wallington Hall and Cragside.

The cottage was lovely very well equipped. It’s also near to the harbour and beach the hut shops and high street were very friendly. Thinking of going back next year

Big fluffy towels also appreciated. Very close to the harbour and shops. Lots to see and do within half an hour's drive, too.

Lovely touches throughout and the quality of the furnishings tasteful. The location is excellent for all the town facilities and safe parking. The weather could have been kinder so we could have enjoyed the cute little patio area at the rear. Just a short drive from Druridge Bay, beautiful beach, and nature park with loads of walking and cycling trails. Great area all round and five star accommodation, would definitely recommend.
