Teal House receives consistently positive feedback for its cleanliness, comfort, and peaceful location close to Amble and the Northumberland coast. Guests appreciate the well-equipped, dog-friendly home, secure garden, and easy access to local amenities and attractions. Many mention thoughtful touches from the owners, such as welcome packs, though these are not guaranteed. Occasional minor criticisms include the size of the living area, pillows, and towels, but overall, guests enjoy a relaxing and enjoyable stay, with many returning year after year.
The vast majority of guests describe the property as very clean, spotless, and well maintained. Only one review mentions some dust on skirting boards and door panels, and another notes the oven could benefit from a professional clean. These are rare exceptions in otherwise glowing feedback.
The location is highly praised for its quiet setting, proximity to Amble town centre, supermarkets, beaches, and the Northumberland coast. Guests appreciate the peaceful cul-de-sac and easy access to local attractions, walks, and amenities.
Guests frequently mention comfortable beds, sofas, and a cosy atmosphere. The house is described as warm and homely. Minor comments include a preference for larger towels and newer pillows, but overall comfort is rated very highly.
The house is well equipped with everything needed for a pleasant stay, including a secure garden, parking, and kitchen essentials. Some guests note the living area is compact and mention the absence of a coffee machine and the need for a professional oven clean, but these are outweighed by positive remarks.
Many guests highlight the welcome packs, early check-in, and treats for both adults and dogs as thoughtful touches. It should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

Teal House is set on a development of houses on the edge of Amble, about 15 minutes’ walk from the high street and harbour. Amble is a small, friendly fishing town with a working harbour, a marina, and a small beach. On the harbour are some small pod-style shops, and on a Sunday, there is a popular and busy market where locals buy fish, fruit and vegetables. The small lobster hatchery is a popular tourist attraction, and around the harbour are some small fish restaurants, two fish and chip shops, and an Italian-style ice cream shop which sells a fantastic range of ice cream flavours. Boat trips are available from here to Coquet Island to see the rspb bird sanctuary. The historic village of Warkworth is only 2 miles away, and you can enjoy a lovely walk whilst admiring the view of Warkworth Castle, which is set on the small hillside awash with daffodils in the spring. The pubs, bespoke shops and pretty riverside are a real attraction, and with free parking, it is a popular little place to visit. Alnwick is 14 miles away with its cobbled streets and famous castle which featured in the Harry Potter films and Downton Abbey TV series. The water gardens are beautiful at any time of the year, and the spectacular grand cascade waterfall, as well as the world’s largest treehouse restaurant, should not be missed.
Amble is on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Northumberland Heritage Coastline has some of the most unspoilt beaches and picturesque coastline in England, with plenty of footpaths and cycle paths to be discovered. Amble is a great location for exploring the whole of the county of Northumberland, and has a good selection of amenities on your doorstep. Beach 1 mile. Shop 300 yards, pub and restaurant 800 yards.

Teal House, is a fantastic home from home. Everything you need, with some lovely touches from the owners, such as a welcome basket for us and the dog to enjoy. Close to lots of fabulous things to do. We particularly enjoyed the puffin cruise from Amble harbour and our day out to visit Lindisfarne (holy Island). Only one negative for us was the bath towels, they were only large enough for our son, bath sheets would be a better option.
