Head into the surrounding area and the nearby towns of Ashington and Stakeford, the former boasting a range of outdoor activities, as well as an abundance of shops and eateries, such as the popular cafe, The Grazing Sheep. Take a leisurely stroll along the River Wansbeck and admire the picturesque wildlife, before visiting the nearby market town of Morpeth, home to a variety of independent boutiques, cafes and restaurants, as well as a range of historic buildings and landmarks. From age-old castles to ancient woodland and everything in between, the area around Fairwinds is the perfect spot for discovering and exploring the best Northumberland has to offer.

Newbiggin-by-the-Sea is a small coastal town in Northumberland. The town has a selection of shops and pubs, as well as a beach. Northumberland itself is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian’s Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife. 3.3 miles away is the large town of Ashington and within reach is Stakeford, which overlooks the River Wansbeck. Nine miles away is the location of the delightful market town of Morpeth which is situated centrally in Northumberland and offers the remains of an historic castle, lovely parks, riverside walks, ancient architecture and churches and an old chantry with a bagpipe museum. Newbiggin-by-the-Sea is a lovely base for whatever you decide to see and so during your Northumberland getaway.
