Guests consistently praise its cleanliness, generous living areas, and proximity to local amenities. The property is described as comfortable and homely, with thoughtful touches such as an air fryer and dog towels. While parking can be tight and some guests mention minor maintenance issues with showers and beds, the overall experience is positive, with many guests keen to return.
The majority of guests found the property very clean and well-presented, with only a few isolated comments about minor cleaning oversights such as a greasy grill pan or missed items. Overall, cleanliness is a strong point.
The location is highly praised, with guests loving the short walk to the beach, proximity to shops, and easy access to local attractions. The setting is described as peaceful and convenient for exploring the area.
Guests appreciate the spaciousness and comfortable living areas, but several mention that the beds are small doubles and not as comfortable as hoped, with some finding the mattresses and pillows lacking. The house is otherwise cosy and warm.
The house is well-equipped with modern appliances, including an air fryer and washer/dryer, and has ample space for families. Some guests note issues with showers running hot and cold, limited crockery for larger groups, and a lack of instructions for appliances.
Guests appreciated extras like dog towels and an air fryer, but there is no mention of welcome gifts or starter packs. Some guests would have liked a welcome pack or basic provisions on arrival, but these are not guaranteed.

A spacious and well presented house, close to the seafront and within walking distance to food shops. Lots of places to eat out, would recommend Rossini. The pub next door was mainly quiet, and we never had problem parking in the parking area opposite the back yard. If we had to use the car parking in the yard it would have been a problem, as very tight entrance and tight turning out for out estate car.Comfortable furniture although a bit sparse in the bedrooms, they could do with chest of drawers and chairs. Plenty of room for them in the double bedrooms. More occasional tables in the lounge.A shelf in the shower would also help. Lack of instructions for equipment in the house made life tricky, the heating system was a bit random, never had an airfryer so no idea how to work it. No instructions of what we could recycle or what bin.None of this spoilt the holiday.

We enjoyed staying at Newbiggin by the sea area, as we have done many times before. In terms of Gibson House, there are positives in the fact that the house has lots of space and good facilities. Unfortunately for us, this was outweighed by the totally awful beds. They were small doubles even though the rooms were spacious enough for King size beds. The mattresses were very uncomfortable, my husband could not sleep in the bed at all and ended up on the sofa for the week. I persevered but struggled to sleep, waking up several times each night. The showers run hot and cold and we felt were a danger for scalding. The cooker inside and trays were not very clean and there were no tea towels to dry anything up. Lots of good features but unfortunately for us not somewhere we would visit again.
