Cleets Retreat in Seahouses receives glowing praise for its immaculate presentation, comfortable beds, and peaceful yet convenient location within walking distance of the town and harbour. Guests consistently highlight the well-equipped kitchen, secure garden, and thoughtful touches for both humans and dogs. Many describe it as one of the best cottages they have stayed in, with several returning guests. While a few minor issues are mentioned, such as garden access and occasional maintenance visits, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, making it a highly recommended choice for a relaxing holiday.
The majority of reviews describe the property as spotless, immaculate, and exceptionally clean. Only a couple of guests noted minor areas for improvement, such as skirting boards or finer details, but these did not detract from the overall high standard.
Guests consistently praise the quiet cul-de-sac setting, proximity to Seahouses town centre and harbour, and easy access to local attractions. The location is described as both peaceful and convenient.
Reviewers frequently mention the comfort of the beds and the overall homely feel of the bungalow. The property is described as cosy, with comfortable furnishings and a restful atmosphere.
The cottage is well equipped with kitchen utensils, washing machine, tumble dryer, and secure garden. Some minor suggestions include a larger cafetière and a radio, but overall, guests found everything they needed for a comfortable stay.
Many guests appreciated the welcome packs, which sometimes included bread, milk, wine, cake, and dog treats. While these thoughtful touches are frequently mentioned, please note that such gifts are not guaranteed with every stay.

Beautiful clean comfortable bungalow. Only concern was the owner turning up unannounced to ‘cut the grass’ day before we left. We were in the back garden so he just said he’d leave us to it but if we’d not been in we wondered whether he would access the property without our knowledge. Renting cottages has to be based on trust. I didn’t appreciate being checked up on as the garden was small and the grass could easily be cut on handover day. It wasn’t overgrown. Neither me or my husband appreciated being checked up on. Cottages. Com have all our details including bank card. If we disrespected a property we would expect to be charged. This really put a damper on our stay in what otherwise is a lovely cottage.

One of the best cottages we have stopped in . Everything you needed was there the decor was fabulous. Just a short walk to the centre of the village . Had a fantastic boat ride to the island to see the birds and seals the highlight of our holiday . I would recommend this cottage very highly. LOVE lOVE LOVED it 10/10 all day long .
