The Old Parish Hall in Seahouses is praised for its excellent location, peaceful surroundings, and spacious accommodation, making it a great base for exploring Northumberland. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, off-street parking, and proximity to local amenities and the beach. While many found the property clean and comfortable, some noted areas needing maintenance and updates, such as the garden, beds, and bathroom fittings. A few guests mentioned minor cleanliness issues and challenges with parking or garden enclosure, but overall, most enjoyed their stay and would consider returning.
Most guests found the property clean and tidy, but several reviews mention issues such as grimy kitchen and bathroom, musty smells, stained bedding, and overflowing bins. Some guests cleaned areas themselves or found minor oversights, indicating inconsistency in cleaning standards.
The location is consistently highlighted as a major positive, with guests loving the quiet setting, sea views, beautiful garden, and easy walking access to Seahouses, the harbour, and local attractions.
Many guests described the cottage as comfortable, spacious, and cosy, but some noted issues with soft or uncomfortable beds, lack of bath mats, and occasional problems with heating or hot water. Overall, comfort was generally good but with room for improvement.
The property offers good amenities such as a well-equipped kitchen and parking, but several reviews mention maintenance issues, such as tired décor, broken fittings, weak shower, and garden upkeep. Some facilities, like the summerhouse, are no longer present.
One guest mentioned finding and leaving a bath mat for future guests, but as gifts or thoughtful extras are not consistently referenced or guaranteed, this cannot be relied upon.

We had a great holiday in the Old Parish Hall, our second visit.Accommodation in an ideal location, fantastic amenities within walking distance, not too far to travel to other places, we love Seahouses. The house itself was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed the peace and quiet, may be in need of some updating and painting, but overall a wonderful holiday.

House needs TLC. Garden was quite overgrown. Concerned how stained mattress cover was on double bed obviously not changed everytime. From outside house was needing revamped and repainted. Could be nice with some work. Wouldn't rebook this cottage

The location of this property is ideal. Lovely walks etc.Unfortunately when we arrived the outside bins were overflowing with rubbish from previous occupants. I don’t know when they were last emptied as flies were buzzing around. There was no refuse collection in the time we were there so unfortunately it was the same when we left. As The bins are at the front of the house somewhat unpleasant.I certainly wouldn’t like to be blamed for this situation. There was no hot water until Tuesday evening after several phone calls. The shower curtain is badly stained. When sweeping the floor I found used plaster. As a previous guest commented on the patio doors don’t close well.Lovely garden unfortunately the garden furniture was very dirty.
