It is said that Postman Pat’s ’Greendale’ is based on Wooler being the gateway to the Cheviots. Nearby there is the Ad Gefrin Anglo-Saxon Museum and Whisky Distillery, here you can do a tour of the distillery and have a tasting session to try their selection of whiskeys. Wooler is on the edge of the National Park and is only 15 miles to Berwick on Tweed, with a beautiful beach and plenty of shops and history. All of the Scottish Borders are easily explored from here with Coldstream only 14 miles and Kelso a little further. Edinburgh is only 90 minutes away.

A wonderful comfortable, very well equipped house for a family group. We have stayed here before and will definitely stay again.

Fantastic modern cottage, warm, spacious, clean and tidy. The kitchen with it's large table was a great entertaining space, especially whilst someone else was cooking. Fully and I mean fully equipped kitchen with 8x wine glases, champagne flutes, beer glases, tumblers etc, bowls, mugs, side plates, more than 8 dinner plates etc etc. cling film, kitchen foil, the usual pots, pans, baking trays etc and even an air fryer. Included was an Amazon Alexa so great for Amazon music. Outdoor space had a great view on the terrace although we only ventured out there to have a look as it was too chilly to sit outside. Parking is as stated for 2 cars so our 2 extra cars where parked further up the road. For unloading / loading, I reversed my car temporarily to the door. For food shops, the Coop was a 3 minute walk up the road and the various pubs / takeaways only a minute (if that) further up the road. Fab cottage. If we come back to Wooler again I would want to hire this cottage. Thanks
