Sleeping up to eight guests, the property is ideal for groups or families, walkers are particularly attracted to this area with walks from the door into the gorgeous countryside. A relaxing balcony offers countryside views and a space for al-fresco dining.
It is said that Postman Pat’s ’Greendale’ is based on Wooler, being the gateway to the Cheviots. Nearby there is the Ad Gefrin Anglo-Saxon Museum and Whisky Distillery, here you can do a tour of the distillery and have a tasting session to try their selection of whiskeys. Wooler is on the edge of the National Park and is only 15 miles to Berwick on Tweed, with a beautiful beach and plenty of shops and history. All of the Scottish Borders are easily explored from here, with Coldstream only 14 miles and Kelso a little further. Edinburgh is only 90 minutes away.

What a lovely home with everything you could possibly need and plenty room for us all to have our own space. Great amenities just around the corner & for the walkers plenty beautiful countryside right out of the front door. NO hesitation in recommending this beautiful home, we had a fabulous time

We had a fabulous weeks stay at the Old Forge . We were three couples and we had plenty of space especially when several were making packed lunch in the spacious kitchen at the same time. The beds were extremely comfortable and having three bathrooms was a real bonus . The views from the bedrooms and the sitting room are gorgeous . The kitchen was really well equipped and we enjoyed eating out in the decking when it was hot. Wooler is a lovely small town with all that you need and a choice of pubs/ eateries . The Italian restaurant is fabulous . There are some absolutely beautiful walks on your doorstep and the nearest beach is only half an hour .

The forge is ideally located to explore Northumberland in terms of National Trust, the many castles, and the seaside resorts. We had a group of 8 and the property was ideal for us in terms of size of bedrooms and the space on the ground floor with a large lounge and a great kitchen. The only disappointment was the outdoor area which looked a bit tired, could have done with a clean, and a lick of paint. Wooler is a lovely town which offered good amenities and a number of restaurants and pubs within a 5 minute walking distance, that we took advantage of. A great week was enjoyed by all our party as we celebrated a big birthday.
