The town of Great Harwood provides everything you need within walking distance for your stay, from local shops and supermarkets to classic pubs and restaurants, as well as being just a stone's throw from nearby woodland areas and places to walk, with the Martholme Viaduct along the River Calder being a great sight to see on a ramble. See Pendle Hill up close with a fairly easy circular route to the summit, with views on a clear day reaching as far as Blackpool Tower and the Lakeland fells, with the Pendle Sculpture Trail being perfect for families with children to keep them entertained on the walk. The town of Clitheroe is home to the ruins of Clitheroe Castle Keep with a maze to explore and a museum too. The National Trust's Gawthorpe Hall makes a lovely afternoon out, with this towering Elizabethan house having links to the Bronte family and now housing art collections.
