Guests say

45 Benton in Chester offers a comfortable and convenient stay, with its location being highly praised for easy access to the city centre and local amenities. The property is described as spacious and well-appointed, suitable for families and groups. While most guests enjoyed their stay, some raised concerns about cleanliness and maintenance, which seem to vary between visits.

Reviews on cleanliness are mixed, with several guests praising the property's tidiness, while others reported issues with maintenance and hygiene. The inconsistency suggests that experiences can vary, leading to a slightly above average score.

The property's location is consistently commended for its proximity to Chester's city centre, supermarkets, and public transport, making it an ideal base for exploring the area.

Guests find the property comfortable, noting its spaciousness and quiet environment. The presence of a garden and the suitability for larger groups contribute to a high comfort level.

Facilities are generally appreciated, with mentions of a well-equipped kitchen and private parking. However, some guests noted issues with specific appliances and general maintenance, leading to a good but not excellent score.

While some guests mentioned appreciative gestures like a Christmas tree during the festive season, there is not enough consistent information about thoughtful touches such as gifts to accurately score this category.

Chester is rightfully referred to as "the pearl of the North-West of England." The city's most remarkable feature is that there is evidence of every period of history within a relatively short area, from Roman walls and amphitheatres through medieval churches, Elizabethan timber-framed townhouses and Georgian terraces, Victorian restorations, and 21st-century architecture. The city has a lot to offer visitors, such as superb shopping in and around the famous Tudor 'Rows' and lovely walks along the Roman Walls, beside the River Dee, and through the beautiful Grosvenor Park. Visit Chester Racecourse or spend the day at the world-famous Chester Zoo.

Has everything we needed for a stress free break. The rooms are spacious and the furniture and beds comfortable. Having a full sized dishwasher is a bonus. The house is a great place to arrive or return to after a long drive or days exploring. Quiet and peaceful locality with nice gardens. Easy flat walking distance to Chester or Bache Railway Station and easy access to shopping by car.

The combination of separate bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs and generous communal space on the ground floor suited our needs perfectly. The house is excellently located, being within a 10-12 minute walk of ALDI and Morrisons supermarkets (the latter being right next to Bache train station), just 15 minutes' walk to Chester itself and close to bus stops servicing Chester and Chester Zoo. The owners were welcoming and very responsive to our questions.

However there were, as ever, some minor ones, but nothing to detract from the stay. Here's a list of the things that weren't quite right. Could find no way of turning on the hob extractor. The en suite shower head fell off its holder a few times when mid shower. The television had sound but no picture. Again could find no way of making that work so used iplayer on my laptop instead. Lofs of plusses too though. The house is in a great location an easy walk from the centre of the city. Beds were very comfortable, the kitchen having a gas hob was a big bonus and the overall facilities provided had everything I expected. The garden was nice too. A very happy experience.
