Ivy Cottage in Chester is praised for its stylish interior, comfortable bedrooms, and great views. Guests appreciate the proximity to the town centre and the convenience of local amenities. The welcome gestures by the property owner are well-received, and the property's unique layout adds to its charm. Some guests mention minor issues with parking and maintenance, but overall, the cottage offers a pleasant stay.
Most guests found Ivy Cottage to be very clean, with only a few mentioning areas that could benefit from additional attention. The general consensus is that the property is well-maintained in terms of cleanliness.
The location is highly regarded for its views and proximity to Chester's centre, river, and local amenities. The convenience of the location for exploring the town and engaging in activities like water sports is frequently highlighted.
Guests generally find the cottage comfortable, with special mentions of the beds and the living space. However, some guests noted that certain areas, like the downstairs bathroom, were cramped, and there were comments about the need for blackout curtains in one of the bedrooms.
The facilities at Ivy Cottage are appreciated, especially the well-equipped kitchen and spacious bathroom. However, some guests pointed out that the Wi-Fi was unreliable and that the property could be better stocked with essentials. Maintenance issues like dripping water and tight parking were also mentioned.
While many guests mention and appreciate the welcome gifts, such as Prosecco and biscuits, there is not enough information to determine if such gestures are consistent across all stays. Therefore, it is politely noted that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed.

The seating area in the kitchen was too small to seat 5 of us (4 max). One of the single beds was very uncomfortable. The downstairs bathroom was tiny and the shower unusable.
Deborah
It was really cosy and very well situated for exploring Chester and beyond Everything was as described. The parking was tight but we managed. Just one or two things that had been overlooked. There was no toilet roll, coffee or sugar and one or two extra bin bags would have been helpful
Rachel
