The Dairy in Cumbria offers a comfortable and spacious stay with beautiful surroundings and a warm welcome from attentive owners. Guests appreciate the property's location for exploring the area and its cosy atmosphere, despite some noting maintenance issues and cleanliness concerns.
While many guests found The Dairy comfortable, there were several mentions of cleanliness issues such as cobwebs, dog hairs, and a dirty kitchen blind. These detracted from the overall experience, but did not seem to overshadow the positive aspects for all guests.
The location is highly praised for its beauty and convenience for exploring local attractions such as Hadrian's Wall and the Lake District. The peaceful setting and proximity to nature reserves and walks contribute to a positive experience.
Guests generally found The Dairy to be comfortable, with a cosy atmosphere, snug warmth, and good sleeping arrangements. However, some guests mentioned outdated decor and a hard bed, which suggests room for improvement in comfort.
The Dairy is appreciated for its spaciousness and amenities like a well-stocked kitchen and WiFi. However, several reviews mention maintenance issues such as a leaky shower, broken bath panel, and problems with the hot tub, which impact the score.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate the level of thoughtfulness. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score for this category.

I was a bit worried that the information said you can hear trains from the house so invested in ear plugs just in case. Definitely not a problem - I was working night shift and sleeping during the day and it couldn't have been any more peaceful and quiet. Kitchen facilities are really good with a big fridge freezer and all the pots / pans I needed - which was a bonus as I do love cooking - and there was a lovely big dining area to eat / work at. Electric heating was a little bit underpowered but there is a wood burner which was great for keeping the place toasty. Planning on staying again soon.

We had to jamb cardboard into it to open it from the inside. An easy fix, buy a new handle. Its putting lives at risk no to. Property did not have a washer/dryer as listed. Broken clothes airer of no use. No vac. Dust pan but no brush! No cleaning supplies. Lovely big telly with broken screen, I.e big purple patches where the display is shot. Cheapest kettle possible. One loo brush between two loos. Some crockery chipped. In all a nice place but we felt we didnt get what we paid for as we had to rough it beyond what we are prepared to do on a holiday. The Dairy is a good name because someone's miking a cash cow without thought of customer safety or satisfaction.
David
Front door difficult to open and outside light not working were the only negative aspects. I had a fall outside the property on the second day but that was not due to anything wrong with property. Would definitely be happy to stay again but would make wardrobe adjustments due to the wind that hits the property.
