Brampton is a historical market town surrounded by the famous Hadrian's Wall, home to a Roman Moot Hall converted into a tourist information centre, a 135 feet high motte, various statues of the Earl of Carlisle, as well as a wide selection of shops, pubs, restaurants, bars and a theatre. Nearby is generous farm and woodland at Talkin Tarn Country Park, with Gelt Woods nature reserve just two miles away. Brampton is a lovely area steeped in history and wonders to find.
