Lodge immaculately clean on arrival, well stocked with everything you need. Great views other the tarn, very peaceful location.

Difficult to rate helpfulness of staff, never saw anybody, just note in reception saying lodge number and key in door, telephone number to call if a problem was half rubbed out! Was informed clubhouse was closed, well it was for us but not for locals, sign at gate still advertises clubhouse and meals though not available. My selection of lodge included wi-fi, there is none. You essentially loose a day off your holiday and pay extra due to need for deep clean, can't get in until 5pm and have to be out by 9am. Lodge smelt of disinfectant so that had probably let off one of those anti-bac "bombs" but it had NOT BEEN CLEANED properly. All the kitchen utensils, knives and forks, pots and pans etc. were dirty, old food stuck on them, there was broken glass under a chair, sweet rapper under a radiator, old entry tickets for the zoo in the bedroom, one of the drawers in the twin room was filthy and the blinds had a thick coat of dust. The lodge itself is quite new but is not being maintained, outer doors have "moved" and don't close properly, en-suite shower door doesn't close, combi-boiler needed bleeding every 2 days or no hot water. Could not recommend staying here.
