The Solway Coast which is only 4 miles away has a lovely beach with long walks with paths along the coast great for dog walkers then relax and grab an ice cream or head too the local pub for a meal in allonby or visit silloth and Mayport two off the harbour towns on the solway coast with coffee shops, cafés, pubs takeaways and supermarkets or venture into the north lakes keswick only 14 miles away which has lots outdoor stuff to do with two lakes bassethwaite and derwent water in the area great for water activities paddle boarding ,swimming ,canoeing this property is next door too other cottages great for big family/friends get togethers. These include Halls Bank Farm ref 1319 sleeps 8 , Berwyn Bank ref 15825 sleeps 12 , Beckside (ref 17926) sleeps 2 all on the same site . The market town of Cockermouth is 6 miles, Keswick 14 miles and Buttermere 12 miles. Bassenthwaite Lake, 6 miles. Private fishing on the River Ellen for salmon and trout, 1 mile (free of charge). Golf and horse riding nearby. Beach 4 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub ½ mile.

The cottage was very clean and comfortable. Plenty of areas to sit and find a quiet place. Could do with more storage space in the kitchen, as its so well equiped there is no space to put your shopping.Our family really enjoyed the swimming pool, which was availalable to us for an hour in the morning and afternoon. The hot tub was a little tired but did the job.We had a problem with the washing mashine but as soon as we contacted the owner the issue was resolved. Within 24 hrs it was looked at and a new one was in place. The surrounding area is beautiful lovely and quiet but not far away for something for ages. From long walks around a lake or activites on the lakes.

A lovely private house with enclosed garden, ideal for children to run about. Lovely well equipped kitchen/diner ideal for our family of ten. We were very lucky with the weather so spent a lot of time sitting in the garden which was also well equipped with garden furniture and parasols. The added bonus of the swimming pool was great however. we would have preferred one 2 hour slot a day instead of 2 one hour slots. Wasn't really enough time to enjoy the pool facilities. We would definitely book again.

My family 12 of us in all stayed for the weekend. The house was lovely very well equipped and clean The bedrooms were well suited to all the ages of our group and outside area and garden secure for children and dogs The hot tub was ready to use for our arrival and the use of the Leisure centre a great hit with everyone The house was nearby Cockermouth and Keswick and the Northern Lake District attractions . In other words a great holiday was had by all. I would not hesitate to recommend it .
