The Solway Coast which is only 4 miles away has a lovely beach with long walks with paths along the coast great for dog walkers then relax and grab an ice cream or head too the local pub for a meal in allonby or visit silloth and Mayport two off the harbour towns on the solway coast with coffee shops, cafés, pubs takeaways and supermarkets or venture into the north lakes keswick only 14 miles away which has lots outdoor stuff to do with two lakes bassethwaite and derwent water in the area great for water activities paddle boarding ,swimming ,canoeing this property is next door too other cottages great for big family/friends get togethers. We had a great time at hallsbank even though two of the roads back from an outing were flooded we eventually got another way in thanks to advice from the owners the swimming pool and sauna were excellent additions and even though it was chilly wing the private hot tub under the night skies was fantastic would definitely recommend

What a fabulous half term we’ve had staying here. The house is much bigger and spacious than it looks in the pictures. It’s really well equipped and has everything you would need and more. Having the pool included(we got 2 sessions a day) was great for the kids literally counted down the minutes till we went every day. The house is dated but very well kept and in keeping with the exterior. We loved the character and features. It is perfect for families and especially for dogs. We had a fabulous time and will definitely return.
