Castle Carrock is known for ’Cumbria’s Most Friendly Music Festival’, Music on the Marr which takes place each year at the end of July. It attracts a diverse crop of music, entertainers, artists and poets from around the world and celebrates great music and excellent entertainment for all. Only 4 miles away is Brampton a delightful little town where you will find a variety of shops, cafés and pubs. The attractions are endless in the area, however a must is a visit to Birdoswald Roman Fort on the path of the world famous Hadrian’s Wall, or Talkin Tarn where you can go boating, coarse fishing or walking. The location is ideal and central for all, with visits to the Lake District National Park, the Solway Coast, Scottish Borders and the Eden Valley within a ½ hour drive. A beautiful cottage in a perfect location. We loved our stay at West View, the cottage was very clean, well equipped and a great layout. Our dog loved the enclosed garden. Walks from the door step and the. Duke of Cumberland was lovely. We will definitely be staying again

House could do with a deep clean. Pillows on bed very thin & limited towels provided (1 hand & 1 bath per person for a week). Unable to recycle as the green bag could not be found, would be helpful to leave in the porch. No shop in the village which was not a big issue as the town of Brampton is very close by.
