Castle Carrock is known for ’Cumbria’s Most Friendly Music Festival’, Music on the Marr which takes place each year at the end of July. It attracts a diverse crop of music, entertainers, artists and poets from around the world and celebrates great music and excellent entertainment for all. Only 4 miles away is Brampton a delightful little town where you will find a variety of shops, cafés and pubs. The attractions are endless in the area, however a must is a visit to Birdoswald Roman Fort on the path of the world famous Hadrian’s Wall, or Talkin Tarn where you can go boating, coarse fishing or walking. The location is ideal and central for all, with visits to the Lake District National Park, the Solway Coast, Scottish Borders and the Eden Valley within a ½ hour drive. West View is a beautifully situated well equipped cottage. Perfect for exploring Hadrian's wall and the pennines. we loved the comfortable space, the view from the garden is lovely. The dogs loved racing around the enclosed garden.we would definitely choose to return to this property.

Enjoyed it very nice place pub 50 yards away great food just no shop in village but no great problem supermarket 8 miles away and local shops about 4 miles no great hardship could stock up on what you need just would have been handy with shop in village for papers and daily things you might need

Perfect 5 starsI could not fault anything about west view.Attention to detail was excellent, spotlessly clean and everything you need for your break.Welcome pack was very welcome after the long drive.We took our own logs with us, which took up a lot of room in the boot, but they do have a log store outside, and you can purchase logs, with an honesty box payment.Absolutely brilliant and beautiful.5 stars all round.Thank you
