Castle Carrock is known for ’Cumbria’s Most Friendly Music Festival’, Music on the Marr which takes place each year at the end of July. It attracts a diverse crop of music, entertainers, artists and poets from around the world and celebrates great music and excellent entertainment for all. Only 4 miles away is Brampton a delightful little town where you will find a variety of shops, cafés and pubs. The attractions are endless in the area, however a must is a visit to Birdoswald Roman Fort on the path of the world famous Hadrian’s Wall, or Talkin Tarn where you can go boating, coarse fishing or walking. The location is ideal and central for all, with visits to the Lake District National Park, the Solway Coast, Scottish Borders and the Eden Valley within a ½ hour drive. We enjoyed an excellent stay with our daughters(11&16) and family friends. Very well appointed/equipped accommodation, generous welcome package.We loved the village pub, which does excellent food and is literally less than a minutes walk from the cottage.Ideally located for Hadrian’s Wall, with all the main sites being within 25-35 mins drive.Already thinking about a return visit in 2027.

Beautiful cottage, stunning views. Excellent location for exploring near and far.Our family thoroughly enjoyed the time at West View, we took advantage of the whole space and we definitely liked seeing the wildlife so near - especially the children.

West View is a beautifully situated well equipped cottage. Perfect for exploring Hadrian's wall and the pennines. we loved the comfortable space, the view from the garden is lovely. The dogs loved racing around the enclosed garden.we would definitely choose to return to this property.
