Close to a beach, and also within reach of the incredible scenery of the Lake District National Park, this charming abode is an ideal base for a couple and their four-legged companion looking for a getaway to the countryside of Cumbria. Park off-road and be welcomed into a charming abode offering a homely open-plan living space equipped with a kitchen space with a selection of amenities to assist your culinary needs. There is a dining table for guests to enjoy a romantic meal for two at, complemented by a glass of fizz. Unwind for the evening in front of the coal effect stove and enjoy a movie marathon. The shower room can be found on the ground floor, and the bedroom is a double mezzanine room, reachable by a ladder. When the sun is shining, head outside and enjoy the views from the patio space, dining alfresco as you plan the day ahead of you. Hensingham is a rural location close to Cleator Moor, where there is a convenience store and a selection of pubs. Whitehaven is a delightful seaside town offering more amenities, as well as a golf course, lovely beach, The Rum Story & Jefferson's Shop, Whitehaven Castle, and the Beacon Museum, whilst guests can also visit Saint Bees Head Heritage Coast and many of the delightful beaches along this stretch of coast. Enjoying a peaceful position within the English county of Cumbria is Cleator Moor, a small town resting just a few miles away from Whitehaven and the coastline. The town plays host to a number of amenities, including a handful of pubs, shops and other small businesses, as well as a Mart Square, where there are three sculptures by Conrad Atkinson, a local artist of international repute. Here, you will also find part of the West Cumbria Cycle Network, which form a portion of the C2C Cycle Route, from Whitehaven to Sunderland. Those with two-wheels can look forward to meandering along the route of the old Whitehaven, Cleator and Egremont and Rowrah and Kelton Fell Railways, which were once very active in the 1850s. The port town of Whitehaven is nearby and rests on the west coast of Cumbria, where you will find a larger selection of amenities, as well as a golf course, The Beacon Museum and the attraction of The Rum Story & Jefferson' Shop.     ! Tastefully decorated with a bed you could sleep in forever!! Lovely friendly hosts within the small holding and gorgeous ducks walking around with their young . Great walks, and a good spot for exploring the area . Definitely feel relaxed and revitalised since visiting! Thankyou hosts for sharing your place

    Unfortunately we had to leave after one night as our elderly dog took unwell. Carol was so sweet and text me several times to enquire after our dog. Highly recommend The Bolt Hole and will definitely return .
