Situated in the pretty village of Colby, the cottage is just 2 miles from Appleby where you will find local amenities, shops, pubs and indoor swimming facilities. There is also a train station which is part of the Settle to Carlisle line. From May to September why not enjoy a swim in the open air pools at either Shap or Askham, both under 11 miles away. For any equestrians, there are lots of centres locally if you fancy a hack to take in some of the local countryside, or if you enjoy a spot of golf there are local courses in Appleby (2 miles) and Penrith (16 miles). Head into the Lake District National Park for the day (within 10 miles), where you can enjoy a day at Lowther Castle, paddleboard on Ullswater or take a trip on a steamer and visit Aira Force waterfall. Entering the property from the curved, covered porchway, you will find yourself in the hallway/lobby.
