Being in the heart of the delightful Dales and within easy reach of the Lake District, Bracken Beck is ideal for friends or families looking to explore this wonderful area. Built on a hillside, Bracken Beck offers entrances at both the ground floor level and first floor, with the ground floor entrance leading into a stone-flagged hallway, perfect for leaving your muddy boots and coats after a day of exploring. The two well-appointed bedrooms are downstairs, both beautifully furnished with hand-made oak furniture and comprising a king-size room and a family room with a double and a single bed. Completing the ground floor is the shower room for you to freshen up in, along with a handy utility room, home to a washing machine, freezer, iron, ironing board and airer. The kitchen is well equipped with all you need for your self-catered holiday, and meals can be enjoyed together around the dining table as you discuss the day's adventures. There is a warming woodburning stove to relax in front of on chillier days, whilst in warmer weather the double doors open out to the lawned garden area affording lovely views over the local fells, with regular visits from the local wildlife including red squirrels, woodpeckers and nuthatches too. Set off on an adventure from your doorstep or take a short scenic car journey to reach plenty more options with nearby landmarks to incorporate into a walk including Arten Gill Viaduct, Hardraw Force Waterfall, Kisdon and Currack Force and Pendragon Castle. Train enthusiasts will enjoy a visit to the historic Garsdale railway station just up the road, on which runs the famous Settle-Carlisle Railway; hop on here and delight in a magnificent and scenic journey through the stunning Dales landscape passing over the famous Ribblehead Viaduct, a marvel of Victorian engineering with 24 arches. Enjoy a drink at the local Moorcock Inn two miles from the cottage, with walkers always welcome, so you can delight in a well-deserved pint on the way back from a ramble. A short drive will take you to the ancient market towns of both Sedburgh, Hawes and Dent with their traditional pubs, shops and cafés to discover. Also within easy reach of the Lake District and the town of Kendal, perfect for walkers. Hawes is also home to the Dales Countryside Museum offering exhibits on rural life and home to an outdoor steam train. Enjoy a wonderful stay in the Yorkshire Dales at Bracken Beck.
