Electric storage heaters, electricity, bed linen and Wi-Fi included. Initial fuel for multi-fuel burner included. Towel hire. Cot and highchair. Enclosed garden with garden furniture and barbecue. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. This 18th-century stone cottage is hidden away up a steep gravel track overlooking the wooded Tyne Valley and the North Pennine Fells. It is a secluded location adjacent to the owner’s house, and benefits from solar powered hot water. There is footpath access to the Pennine Way and local tracks with a variety of local attractions including the South Tynedale Steam Railway, lead mining heritage centres, a transport museum, hand made candle factory, and the historic charm of Alston one mile away, with its steep cobbled streets and good pubs. The area is ideal for walking and mountain biking. Both Hadrian’s Wall and the Lake District are within half an hour’s drive. Shops and pubs 1 mile.

    Stayed Christmas week and the thoughtful owners had even put up a Christmas tree!Really cosy front room with fab log burner.We had a lovely time at this charming cottage,very atmospheric.The dogs were soon at home as were we.Beds were comfortable and the kitchen well equipped.Lovely views.Wonder what its like in the summer months!

    We have met 2 of the most true beautiful people let alone hosts. They were so helpful so kind so genuine. The area is amazing it’s changed our lives visiting this cottage. If your into history, nature & seclusion then you will love it. Comfy beds, love big bath, table for eating, high chair on request. Lovely locals, lovely sized cottage. Pull out bed for extra guests within limits. Beautiful fireplace, space for your car. And the hosts will help and advise you as long as your kind and easy going. Thank you so much we will be back **
