This is a great area for walking, with wonderful woodland walks featuring rare trees and wild flowers in abundance, alternately take a pleasant stroll down to the coast, or venture inland along one of the many nearby footpaths. The Lake District National Park, Lakeland Motor Museum, the old village of Cartmel and the pleasant Victorian seaside resort of Grange-over-Sands are all within easy reach, making this quality Allithwaite holiday home an ideal base for enjoying this corner of the Lake District.
The village of Allithwaite is located close to the Lake District National Park, two miles from both Cartmel and Grange-over-Sands. Allithwaite offers a shop, Post Office and two pubs serving food, whilst the village of Cartmel has streamside walks, quaint cobbled streets littered with antique shops, traditional pubs and the acclaimed, Michelin Star-awarded L'Enclume restaurant. A perfect place to travel around the area from and not forgetting that it's attached to a pub. The pub sells cracking beers and absolutely fantastic food and the staff, which there seems to be quite a few are so, so friendly and so helpful. Charlotte who runs the pub and owns the beautiful cottage is so helpful and ready to help no matter how small a problem you have she's there ready to help. I would definitely come back here. ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!!

From checking in, being shown round the cottage by Gavin & check out the process was easy. Gavin & Charlotte are very friendly. Cottage is very comfortable & everything you need. We also ate at The Pheasant next door where we were given a warm welcome. Varied menu & lovely food. Great location with walks from the doorstep. Lakes not too far to visit.
