Guests say

Hollins Farm Barn receives glowing praise for its peaceful rural setting, stunning views, and exceptionally friendly hosts. Guests consistently highlight the immaculate cleanliness, well-equipped kitchen, and comfortable furnishings. The property is ideally located for exploring both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales, with easy access to local amenities and attractions. Thoughtful touches from the owners, such as local information and occasional welcome gifts, are much appreciated. While the access track is a little bumpy and a washing machine is not provided, these are minor points in an otherwise outstanding stay.

Cleanliness is repeatedly described as excellent, with guests noting the property is spotless, well-maintained, and among the cleanest they have stayed in.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, beautiful countryside views, and proximity to both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. The only minor drawback mentioned is the bumpy access track and the need for a car for most outings.

Guests consistently mention the comfort of the accommodation, including cosy furnishings, a super comfy bed, and a relaxing atmosphere, making it a welcoming retreat after days out.

The barn is described as very well equipped, especially the kitchen, with ample utensils and amenities. The only minor negative is the absence of a washing machine, but this does not detract significantly from the overall experience.

The hosts are frequently commended for their warm welcomes, helpful advice, and thoughtful touches such as fresh flowers, information folders, and, on occasion, gifts like wine or cards. Please note that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

Graham and Julie were extremely helpful, welcoming, and always happy to assist whenever needed. The location was quaint and wonderfully peaceful, with the cottage surrounded by sheep and cows, which really added to the charm. The only downside, which we were already aware of when booking, is that the roads aren’t really designed for pedestrians, so it’s not ideal for getting to places without a car. That said, this was only a minor consideration for us. It’s just the walk to the station, and once you’re at Oxenholme, the connections are good. From there, you can easily get to Kendal, Windermere, and beyond — the world is your oyster. Overall, we had a fantastic stay. We would absolutely recommend this cottage and would happily stay again!
