We had a wonderful stay over the bank holiday weekend and had great weather which meant we could really enjoy the amazing old fashioned typical english garden with lots of seating areas both in the sun and shade and saw so many gorgeous flowers with being this time of year. The cottage was quaint and typical country style, very comfy and well equipped, we reversed onto the drive which is actually at the side of Montrose cottage (the blue one) as the access was through the gate and garden round the back, we didn't use the front door as was directly onto the main road, a quiet one but tight if a car was coming. We had booked this area to go to Cartmel races mainly and we discovered so many great places not too far drive, we went to Silecroft beach for the famous ice cream, a little cafe right on the beach top, lovely beach where many people were in the sea, we visited Haverigg beach too, park up and walk along the beach, little cafe and park with lots of seating for a picnic too, Bardsea beach and many more, our dogs had the time of their lives. It is around 30-40 mins drive to Bowness on Windermere so not far at all. We went to Ulverston to do our main shop at Aldi and M&S there, around 15 mins awayAll in all had the best time and made the most of our 4 night stay

We spent a very relaxing weekend at Woodburn Cottage last weekend. From the minute we arrived we loved everything, The cottage was very well equipped, comfortable and so peaceful. The garden is beautiful, a true country cottage, busy and beautiful, full of surprises at every turn. John and Hazel are lovely hosts that have excellent ideas of where to visit.Local pubs, if you should need them are only a short walk away with very friendly people in there. We will definitely be back.
