Guests say

Guests are charmed by Smardale Hall's peaceful and picturesque setting, with its proximity to nature and walking paths. The property's historic character and spaciousness are appreciated, as is the warm welcome from the owners. The hot tub is a highlight, offering relaxation and stunning views. While some mention the property's age-related quirks, the overall experience is one of comfort and enjoyment.

The majority of guests found the property to be clean and well-maintained, with comfortable beds and a well-stocked kitchen. However, a few guests mentioned issues with flies in a shower room and a ring of scum around the hot tub, which slightly impacts the score.

The location is highly praised for its tranquility, beautiful countryside, and accessibility to walks and nature reserves. The occasional sight of a passing steam train adds to the charm. The property's remote setting is exactly what many guests desired.

Guests report the property as comfortable, with a roaring fire on arrival and a spacious environment. The beds are consistently described as comfortable, contributing to a restful experience. The presence of a working farm adds to the comfort for some.

Facilities like the hot tub and kitchen are well-received, but some guests noted issues with Wi-Fi reliability and a need for additional showers. The historic nature of the property means some modern amenities may not be up to standard for all.

While many reviews reflect the owners' helpfulness and the welcoming nature of the property, there are no specific mentions of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts. Therefore, it is not possible to score this category.
