Peacefully located in the most amazing setting, this outstanding holiday home is set in 4 acres of grounds and overlooks a small lake. The single storey property has been furnished and equipped to a good standard and is tucked away down a country lane in the beautiful Eden Valley. An abundance of wildlife is attracted to the water and the view through the large glass windows from the living room across the lake is delightful. There are seating areas dotted around the lake for relaxing and viewing. Nearby is the traditional market town of Kirkby Stephen, which was the first town in Cumbria to be accredited with ’Walkers are Welcome’. There are many walking and cycling opportunities in the area, plus the famous and scenic Settle to Carlisle railway line runs through Kirkby Stephen. The Eden Valley is perfectly placed for touring the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Teasdale and Durham, Hadrian’s Wall and the Scottish border. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

Just back from a week at this amazing place. Fantastic location, right on the lake which has a lot of wild life. Kitchen has everything you could need and more. More than enough room for a family. Only thing was wish the outside light worked so we could see which animals came out at night, lots of badger sets around. Also take your hair dryer as we didnt and there wasnt one there. Will definatly go back

This has to be the best furnished and well equipped cottage that we have stayed in. Nothing had been overlooked for the comfort of the guests. The owner was very friendly and we had a lovely chat with her during our stay. Lovely surroundings with abundance of peace and quiet.

We had a wonderful week at Swallows Nest. The setting was spectacularly peaceful and the lake is such a bonus. You can walk around if you wish to get a nice view of the cottage. The cottage decor is lovely and shows care and attention to making it a comfortable stay with plenty of storage and a very comfortable bed! We will definitely return as it's one of the nicest cottages we've stayed in. Carol was very friendly and welcoming too.It's in a good spot for local walks and exploring and you can also go a little further afield into the Lakes if you wish. The wildlife around the lake was a further bonus. Plenty of ducks, moorhens and sheep. We also had four egrets and a heron visit one day and spotted a couple of hares.
