For those looking to venture further afield, the town of Bowes with its stately home, High Force waterfall, and Barnard Castle are within easy reach. This picturesque corner of the Eden Valley is dotted with charming villages and offers excellent routes for walkers and cyclists, making it a perfect destination for lovers of the great outdoors. Local amenities include a shop 2 miles away and a pub and restaurant just 1½ miles from the barn.

We have just returned from a wonderful Christmas stay at Westwood Barn.The location was great for Kirby Stephen and also a great base for travelling further afield.The Tan Hill Inn is a must when you stay at the Barn.A fabulous time was had by all.

We chose this house as it could sleep two families for a weekend catch up. We enjoyed a walk on a quiet road to Brough for lunch which allowed us some views of the hills around. Recommend The Outfitters Cafe. Great staff, menu and very accommodating for those with allergies.
