This is a great base to enjoy a boat trip or visit the waterfalls at Aira Force. The Yorkshire Dales National Park and the heritage site of Hadrian s Wall are both less than 30 miles away. The local area has some excellent walks plus numerous cycle routes. The Coast to Coast route runs within a few miles of the village. Penrith (10 miles) has lots of interesting local shops, independent restaurants and pubs.
