Located in the heart of rural farmland above the ancient market town of Sedbergh, Gateside Farmhouse enjoys excellent views from all windows of the Howgill range. Sedbergh itself is two and a half miles away, an enjoyable walk and has an excellent selection of cafes and book shops, the town being the first ’book’ town in the UK.

Set on a very quiet working farm, Gateside Farmhouse has undergone a major renovation and now offers excellent, quality accommodation for up to 10. The rooms are light and spacious and, laid out on three floors, the property offers flexible living space for a large family gathering or a group of walkers or cyclists. A small welcome pack is provided by the owners, so you can look forward to a decent cuppa after a long journey. The property is on a national cycle route.

    A great place to stay. It was spacious enough for the 10 of us, with plenty of dining and lounging space and a good layout of bedrooms.

    Absolutely stunning property with fantastic vies. Completely modernised and beautiful house, very well equipped for self catering. Beds were super comfortable, warm enough in winter. Log burner too which was fun. The farmer/owner even brought a couple of newborn lambs to show the kids which was really fantastic. Will definitely stay again.
