The market town of Burnley is situated close to Pendle Hill, a popular place for walkers, which was notorious for the Pendle Witches and the trials of 1612 in Lancaster. It is within reach of the Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The National Trust managed Gawthorpe Hall is in the nearby town of Padiham, Towneley Hall Museum and Park are close by or you may wish to explore the town’s waterways with a walk or boat trip along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.

    There is so much to see and do in the area that a visitor will never be bored whatever the weather. The only slight downfall is the state of the road over the last 100 metres or so. Thank you Jean for the very tasty tomatoes.
