We have booked accommodation several times with Cottages.Com and this is the first time I do not feel able to recommend a property.This is an old farmhouse which could be lovely, but it is in dire need of renovation and modernisation.It appears in appearance very neglected, all the pots around the house just held dead plants and weeds, all the windows inside and out needed cleaning.The walls inside are painted and in places the plaster was failing and broken.The lounge had a large hole in the top corner of the ceiling with multiple pipes perusing, which was very unsightly.The patio door in the lounge was blocked by large sofas and difficult to access to the outside and we had to use the patio door in the ground floor bedroom to access the hot tub.The kitchen had a good sized table to seat 8 people, but the equipment of crockery & cutlery was limited to 8 items of each, which entailed constantly washing throughout the day. We did make good use of the dish washer!The America fridge freezer was in need of replacing, the front was rusty in places a bit off putting.The toilet in the downstairs en-suite toilet was leaking and although me made the owner aware of this at the start of our holiday, this was not sorted in the 7 days we were there.On a positive note the lounge was comfy, and had a large smart tv which was great and the WiFi was super speedy.Everyone said their beds were comfy and the en-suites and bathroom were good.The hot tub was very good and used several times, although the area it was set up in again needed care and attention.It is a lovely location with lots to see & do in the local area.
