Back Cottage in Kirkby Lonsdale receives glowing praise for its central yet peaceful location, making it an ideal base for exploring the town and surrounding countryside. Guests consistently highlight its cleanliness, well-equipped kitchen, and cosy atmosphere. The cottage is dog-friendly and perfect for walkers, with amenities and scenic walks nearby. While parking can be a minor challenge and a few guests noted comfort issues with some furniture and bedding, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests eager to return.
The vast majority of reviews describe the cottage as spotlessly clean, tidy, and well maintained. Only one or two minor comments mention crumbs or tired bedding, but these are exceptions rather than the rule.
Guests repeatedly praise the cottage's location as perfect—central to shops, pubs, and restaurants, yet quiet and peaceful. Its proximity to walks and local attractions is a standout feature.
Most guests find the cottage cosy, warm, and comfortable, with particular appreciation for the beds and living spaces. A few mention a less comfortable settee and some bedding issues, but these are minor compared to the overall comfort reported.
The cottage is described as very well equipped, with all essentials provided for a relaxing stay. Guests appreciate the kitchen, log burner, and thoughtful touches. Minor maintenance issues (e.g., a leaky tap) are occasionally mentioned but do not detract from the overall positive impression.
Guests note good communication from the owners, helpful instructions, and some staples left in the cupboards. While gifts are not specifically mentioned and cannot be guaranteed, the overall sense is that the owners are attentive and considerate.

Cotttage had all necessary facilities and all instructions were well communicated. Would certainly consider a revisit in future. Thank you.

Both bedrooms are spacious and comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped with everything needed for a holiday. The small outside patio is a nice sun trap. The lounge/diner provides plenty of seating. Parking outside the property is not possible but Kirkby Lonsdale has many car parks just minutes from the property. There is also some free parking a short distance away, beyond the parish church. The property owners provide good advice on parking.

I only gave 4 stars as there was crumbs of food on one of the chairs at the table. Apart from that everything else was excellent and we had a lovely time.
