Duckling Lodge is a well-received holiday rental in a peaceful park, praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and the addition of a hot tub. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches like welcome gifts and find it a great base for exploring the Lake District. While some maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is positive, with many looking forward to returning.
The lodge generally receives positive remarks for cleanliness, with several guests finding it spotless upon arrival. However, a few reviews mention cleanliness issues, such as finding debris and a dirty oven, which slightly lowers the score.
The location is highly praised for its peacefulness and proximity to the Lake District, making it an ideal getaway spot. Some guests found it further from the Lakes than expected, but the overall sentiment is very positive.
Guests frequently mention the comfort of the lodge, particularly the beds and the overall homely feel. A few minor issues are raised regarding furniture and space, but these do not significantly detract from the comfort experienced by most.
The facilities, including the hot tub, are generally appreciated, but several reviews cite maintenance issues such as problems with the hot tub, dishwasher, and other amenities. These concerns affect the score, indicating room for improvement.
Many guests express gratitude for the thoughtful welcome gifts and dog-friendly amenities. While these gestures are well-received, it is noted that such gifts are a courtesy and may not be a consistent offering for all stays.

The lodge was immaculately clean on arrival and had everything we needed and more. It was a perfect base for our wonderful holiday, exploringa beautiful part of the world. Apart from one evening when the WiFi was a little unreliable, everything else was perfect and the lodge fully deserves a five star rating. Thank you for a lovely late summer/early autumn break. We really hope to return at some point in the future.
