About this property

This stunning, Georgian property sits in well-maintained grounds on the outskirts of Carnforth, Lancashire in the South Lakes. Renovated to an excellent standard, Hall Gowan is a magnificent place to call home while exploring the rural delights of Lancashire, including the scenic Lake District 12 miles away. When it comes to unwinding, this sumptuous abode offers two living areas, both complete with large settees and Smart TVs, one of which benefits from a woodburning stove, sure to be appreciated in the winter months. Follow the carpeted floor round to the dining bench, set under a canopy of beams, where you can enjoy the company of each other whilst tucking into a hearty dish. The kitchen is dominated by a Rangemaster cooker with 5-ring hob, along with quirky appliances such as the coffee machine and soda stream, ensuring you have everything on-hand for a hassle-free holiday. Adjacent to the kitchen is a utility space with washing machine and tumble dryer, so you can easily pop your clothes on a spin, along with a boot room to store muddy boots after a day of adventure. Whisk away upstairs and get to know the bedrooms, each furnished with a double bed and bedside tables. Rounding off the interior is the stunning family bathroom, providing choice of roll-top bath and walk-in shower, so you can best decide how to prepare for the day. Take advantage of the outside garden, boasting a large lawned expanse with stone building, games room with table tennis, and barbecue room, providing ample entertainment. A gentle stroll will bring you into Carnforth town centre, home to a choice of shops, pubs, restaurants, bars, the pretty canal, and interesting attractions including a watersports centre, the filming location for Sir David Lean's Oscar winning classic, Brief Encounter at the famous railway station. Break away to the seaside town of Morecambe, where you can spend a day relaxing on the golden sands at Morecambe Beach or head to Capernwray and explore the waters at the fascinating Capernwray Diving Centre. Why not explore the Lake District, stopping off in the lake towns of Windermere and Bowness before hiring out a kayak or venturing on a boat cruise? If you fancy a change of scenery, the vibrant city of Lancaster awaits, perfect for bar crawls, retail therapy and historic attractions. Experience an indulgent break at Hall gowan.

Carnforth is a well-known location that many people want to explore. It is situated off the M6 and 20 miles south of the picturesque Lake District. It is close to everything and is located at the northern end of Morecambe Bay, north of the ancient town of Lancaster, 15 miles from the winding lanes of the Yorkshire Dales, and only a short distance from the Lake District. Other nearby attractions include the play area, café, garden centre, and crafts and local produce at Greenlands Farm Village. Tidal sands border Morecambe Bay's vast extent in the picturesque region immediately north of Carnforth. In this beautiful region of Lancashire, there are many opportunities for relaxing walks and to observe the local fauna and birds. Don't overlook Kirkby Lonsdale, a charming mediaeval market town.

I have to add that communication with the owners was REALLY good - super helpful, polite & friendly, making it easy to get whatever information we needed, in a quick timescale. The gardens were a fantastic bonus, with lots to do for a 3 year old, including a double slide, room to kick a ball around & the attraction of a small pond, with at least 4 frogs to entertain him. Thank you - I expect we will be back :-D
