Enjoying an elevated position with gorgeous views of open countryside from both the front and rear, Storrs Croft provides attractive, spacious and comfortable, detached holiday accommodation. The heart of this home is definitely the open kitchen with dining area, with its smart, contemporary style, from which one can enjoy the views. Storrs Croft is just 6 miles from the beautiful market town of Kirkby Lonsdale, which offers all the amenities one needs, such as supermarkets, lovely gift shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes. From St Mary’s Church, there is a breathtaking view across the Lune Valley to the Yorkshire Dales. It was named ’Ruskins View’ after the artist who captured its beauty. A few steps away is a 17th century coaching inn, which has oak floors, open fires and real ales. Also, its proximity to both the Yorkshire Dales and Cumbria’s Lake District, together with great access to the motorway network, makes this an ideal touring base, with much to see and do. There are lots of great walks in the area. Arnside and Silverdale, which form a designated aonb, are within 12 miles. For the more adventurous, Warton Crag, 8 miles, provides opportunities for hiking, climbing and abseiling. Warton is also home to Leighton Hall, a historic house with pretty gardens, children’s play area, maze and tea rooms. It hosts various events throughout the year, such as an outdoor theatre and car rallys. Other activities available locally include cycling, fishing, horse riding and golf. Lancaster also has a large sports and leisure centre. Nature lovers will love Leighton Moss rspb Nature Reserve, 10 miles, where the BBC’s Autumnwatch was filmed. Other places of interest nearby include Morecambe, 11 miles, Lancaster and Ingleton, both 12 miles. Just over 30 minutes drive will take you to Grange-over-Sands, Cartmel or Kendal, and within an hour you can be exploring Lake Windermere or Lancashire’s beautiful Ribble Valley and Forest of Bowland. Shop and pub 2 miles.

This a first for me to write a negative review.On arrival we encountered 64 dead blow flies on the windowsill in the ensuite bedroom,after clearing these we had another infestation.This was on the Sunday after arrival on the Friday flies on the window and sill in same room we killed 16 that day,window exposed to bright sunlight that day. Towel rail water leak on the Saturday evening left message with caretaker,due to severity phoned emergency number who arranged plumber who came on the Monday.In mean time we managed to stem flow to just a drip so Monday for plumber was OK.Fixed loose toilet seat in ensuite bathroom it was loose and moving about.Having written the above its a pity because the property is well equipped and was good for our party. PS,Roller blind in lounge broken .

Lovely view both back and front, tempered at the front by the road noise which was quite constant.Disappointed to find dishwasher broke on arrival(it was on my necessary list). Oven quality very poor.Heating rarely worked and only allowed heat twice a day for a couple of hours when it did work. Electric heater in living area kept cutting out. Left two days early as we were cold.Garden maintenance poor.Inconvenienced by workmen attempting repairs and maintenance during our stay.Bed comfy, though storage limited.Bleeping noise for alarm on doors disturbing for the later sleeper.Welcome pack weird and not very welcoming(crisps?).Sun room was wicker sofa in hallway.Blind and curtains in living room didnt work.General air of needing refurb
