Ideally situated to enjoy all the local amenities including the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales, this holiday accommodation is wonderful for families or groups of friends to get together. On entering the property, you arrive in a spacious open plan living area with plenty of comfy sofas in front of a welcoming woodburner, making a great place to relax after a full day out and about exploring the area. There is a large dining table and chairs next to a well-equipped kitchen, with everything required to prepare some lovely home-cooked meals.
There is also a separate snug with the extra flexibility of a double sofa bed and second television; a great place for the kids to play together or even as a separate area for adults to catch up. Upstairs there are three well -furnished further bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room and a separate bathroom for extra flexibility. To the outside is a large lawned and walled garden with a good-sized patio with furniture, making an ideal place for some alfresco dining or relaxing with a glass of something chilled. A minute walk takes you into the village of Wray with its pub, tea room and village shop with Post Office.
The cottage is within easy access of many walks and cycle opportunities with the river not too far away. A 15 minute drive takes you to the city of Lancaster with its Georgian buildings populating the vibrant centre providing a superb choice of shops and places to eat or stop for a coffee on a day out shopping. With the Forest of Bowland and The Lake District National Park within easy reach, you will enjoy this cottage at any time of the year.
Wray is a small village in Lancashire, 10 miles from the city of Lancaster. The village has a general store with a post office. The village also has a pub; a tearoom, Bridge House Farm Tearooms; and a restaurant Bridge House Bistro. Wray is home to the "maggot races", an annual event which raises money for local charities. The Scarecrow Festival takes place every year during the week leading up to May Day when there is a fair. Lots of the villagers put up scarecrows outside their homes which are then photographed and added to the village website.
