Guests say

The cottage receives high praise for its immaculate cleanliness, comfortable furnishings, and peaceful rural location, making it ideal for relaxing breaks and dog-friendly holidays. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, enclosed garden, and friendly, responsive staff. The on-site pub and proximity to scenic walks and farm shops are frequently highlighted. While most experiences are positive, a few guests noted occasional maintenance issues and rare lapses in cleaning. Parking can be challenging during busy pub times. Overall, the property is highly recommended for couples, families, and pet owners seeking a tranquil countryside retreat.

The vast majority of reviews commend the property for being spotlessly clean and well-prepared, with special mention of the diligent cleaning team. Only one review reported a significant lapse in cleanliness, which was promptly addressed by the owner. This isolated incident slightly lowers the otherwise excellent standard.

Guests love the quiet, rural setting, ideal for dog walks and unwinding, with easy access to local attractions, farm shops, and the coast. The on-site pub is a bonus. A minor drawback is the need for a car and occasional parking difficulties during busy pub times.

Most guests find the cottage very comfortable, highlighting the beds, sofas, and peaceful atmosphere. The enclosed garden is appreciated by dog owners. One guest mentioned an uncomfortable mattress, suggesting room for improvement, but overall comfort is rated highly.

The cottage is praised for being well-equipped, especially the kitchen, and for having everything needed for a pleasant stay. Facilities such as the enclosed garden, smart TV, and hot shower are frequently mentioned. A few minor maintenance issues (e.g., faded microwave display) were noted but did not detract significantly from the overall experience.

Several guests mention thoughtful touches such as dog beds, bowls, and treats, which are appreciated but cannot be guaranteed for every stay. Staff communication and responsiveness are also highlighted as particularly attentive and helpful.

Pub was vefy busy and on 3 ocassions we were unable to park after going out, this was probably the most frustrating thing about our stay, we understand that friends and relatives like to gather after funerals, it was just so busy and not being able to park was frustrating. So this is not somewhere we would not choose to stay again.

As always the cottage was wonderfully prepared by the awesome cleaning team (thank you once again). Everywhere in the cottage was spotless and everything I used in the kitchen was perfectly clean. This was not a surprise as it is the same every time I stop (usually every 4-6 weeks). The location is also wonderful from the inn just on the doorstep to the local farm shops (I adore Mrs Kirkham’s cheese) and the adorable scenery of the forest of Bowland. These cottages are highly recommended!!

Looks like we were unlucky with property given reviews we read before booking. Externally as you arrive location/grounds look perfect, but property was not cleaned and cooker, microwave and dishes all dirty and unhygenic. Owner did come and reclean/replace certain items, but told us they only do any decorating repairs once a year and we needed to expect low level marks/dirt with properties that allow dogs. Dont expect Cottages.com to address any issues as we were promised customer services to call back, but now home and still no response.
